Running and Playing

This kid just gets cuter and cuter by the day.
Our lives completely revolve around him and I wouldn't have it any other way.
He figured out how to use a straw. He hasn't done it since but hey, he did it.

I couldn't get it on camera, but he was sharing his cheese with Abigail.
The army crawl under the coffee table.
He is modeling his new cardigan sweater I made. Looks good, no? I used this tutorial and it turned out great.
This onesie was a custom order for SundayBaby for a friend of mine. Her son was turning 1 and she was having a monster themed party. I'm so glad she liked it.

Brayden's new favorite game: put the lids in the can. All it is is a baby formula can and a bunch of used canning jar lids. He loves the clank they make as they fall in. He will sit for a good 20 min just putting them in and dumping them out. It's cute. :)

I am working on the Oak Canyon Jr. High School play again this year. We had a big set-building day a couple of weeks ago. We were at the school for 8 hours and Brayden handled it really well. The kids adore him. They made this headband for him to match the ones they had made for themselves from scraps of t-shirts. He was pretty tired by the middle picture. In the last one, Roy but him on a stool on a 4 foot platform! I about died! Of course Brayden thought it was hilarious. Stinkers.
We grew purple potatoes in our garden this year. They are one of the coolest vegetables ever. They taste exactly like regular potatoes except they are purple all of the way through. I have only ever fried them up like this but I would really love to try mashed purple potatoes next year. ;)
I melt every time he smiles...

Yes, he officially drinks from a sippy cup all by himself. We're trying to get him ready for the transition from formula but he doesn't like cow's milk very much. He does enjoy water and juice though. So that's a start.
Look at me! I'm driving a truck!
On General Conference weekend, we set up the sound system outside and got some yard work done. We created a planter where there had previously just been a patch of dirt and weeds in the middle of the lawn. We planted trees and a few bushes. Brayden was a big helper.

If any picture describes my son, it is this one. Dirty bum with his head stuck somewhere it probably shouldn't be.
He would put all of the dirt back in the hole as we dug.

Playing in the dirt is always a fun treat.

Chicken attack!!!!! (she's actually flying by but it is an awesome picture!)
The finished planter. It turned out great! Good work Sweetheart! And for the record-we found rebar in this project too.

For Sunday General Conference we went to Grandpa Simpson's. Brayden loves knocking over block towers because it makes a great sound.
We have new cows next door and Abigail does not like it. You can't tell, but her fur is standing straight up. She barked at them for an hour straight. I'm waiting for one of them to get sick of it and charge through the fence. Good thing they're steers and not bulls!
So proud of himself for getting on top of the box.
Even more proud of himself for starting to take off his PJs during his nap.

We went on our first "walk". We only made it to the house next door because he wanted to go play with their gravel but it was fun anyway. I think walking is my favorite milestone yet. He is so cute waddling around the house and down the street!. I love it!
Brayden and I try to go for walks most days. I'll carry him to a place on the street and he'll waddle around until he finds something interesting to put in his mouth. This time it was acorns...
I do try to avoid this. This one slipped by me while I was trying to get a picture of him picking them up.
This is my little stinkbug. He sleeps with his bum in the air. It is so adorable!

Life in the Shuldberg house is good. There is screaming and crying but it comes alongside the love and the laughter, so it is always manageable. I love my boys more than anything in the world. I wouldn't trade my life if I could.
